Care is provided to patients of all ages by an interdisciplinary team using a patient-centered approach. The interdisciplinary team is comprised of physicians, registered nurses, registered practical nurses, unit clerks, physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, a dietician, and a discharge planner.
The team actively collaborates with community partners including the NE LHIN Home and Community Care, local Family Health Teams, and First Nations communities Health Care Services.
Visiting hours for the inpatient care area are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. All children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Outside of regular visiting hours, special arrangements can be made for family members wishing to participate in care by speaking to the nursing staff or manager.
A Spiritual Room is available at both sites and provides a quiet space for patients and visitors to participate in activities such as smudging and meditation.
For inpatients that are unable to go to the spiritual room, special arrangements can be made for smudging ceremonies in the inpatient area.
This must be arranged with the nursing staff or manager.
We encourage patients to leave all valuables at home, such as cash, electronics, and jewelry.
