Manitoulin Health Centre Vice President Corporate Support Services and CFO Resigns

Little Current/Mindemoya, ON - MHC’s Vice President Corporate Support Services and Chief Financial Officer is leaving the organization later this spring to pursue a new opportunity in Ontario’s education sector. Tim Vine announced his resignation from MHC as he has been recruited as the new Vice-Rector of Administration with Saint Paul University in Ottawa.

Vine has been an integral part of the Senior Team at MHC, especially during the last 2 years of the COVID-19 pandemic. Tim provided the organization with a guiding hand during some very challenging fiscal times as well as oversaw a dedicated portion of the MHC staff.

“I am saddened by the news, however, I am excited for Tim as academia has always been near and dear to his heart as demonstrated through his knowledge sharing at every opportunity. I feel honored to have partnered with Tim in leading MHC through the pandemic to date and I am excited for him and Crystal and their new opportunity in Ottawa. Tim is an exceptional CFO and VP and has also proven to be a friend and trusted colleague. The Board, our employees and medical staff, wish him the very best in this new opportunity,” said MHC’s Paula Fields, who recently served as interim co-CEO with Vine.

“I am sad to leave MHC for this opportunity, but moving into the university sector is an ideal match for my education and experience. The Board of MHC has wisely entrusted Paula Fields as its new CEO, a choice I personally hoped for from the beginning of the search. It was only because of my great confidence in Paula’s leadership abilities that I could even entertain this move. As we emerge from the pandemic, MHC has a rocksolid management team in place lead by an extremely capable CEO who has decades of hospital experience and close ties to our community. I know this team will only build on their success in the future,” said Mr. Vine.

Chairman Dennis McGregor also stated, "On behalf of myself and the entire Board of Directors, although we are saddened to learn of Tim's decision, we certainly understand. Tim has been an instrumental part of the wellbeing of MHC operations during his time with us, and in particular, during these past two challenging years. Always willing to go above the call of duty, his professionalism, passion, and empathy for MHC and all we serve will be missed. The Board of Directors only wishes Tim all the best in his future endeavours and will always remain grateful for all his contributions to MHC".

A search for a new Vice President Corporate Support Services and CFO for MHC will begin immediately. Fields is happy to say that Vine will remain in his position until April to assist in ensuring a smooth transition for the organization once a replacement has been hired.
